The Opportunity
‘Wangka Wakaṉutja’ is Pintupi-Luritja for ‘the story has been told’.
The illustrated books were produced as literacy tools for local schoolchildren and tell stories of first contact, Dreamings, community life, plants, animals and more. Some are funny and wildly creative. Others are moving, dramatic and extraordinary.

The Outcome
Working alongside the National Library project team and Design Community, Artikel Design developed a visual identity and exhibition graphics to reflect the unique objects and rich stories in the collection for this exhibition.
This project included the conceptualisation and delivery of all 2D graphic and illustrative elements utilised throughout the exhibition space, the visual identity, and various other design elements. During the creative process, Artikel explored various mediums and illustrative styles to effectively visually communicate the stories that make up the collection of Pintupi-Luritja bilingual books.
